FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to complete a translation?

This varies with the language, the length and difficulty of the text, and the availability of particular translators. In general, it takes about 3 to 4 days to translate documents up to 3,000 words (about 10 - 15 pages) into any of the major commercial languages. Longer documents take proportionally more time to translate. If your work requires desktop publishing, that work will take extra time. If your need is more urgent, however, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule with a rush delivery.

How do you charge?

For translations our charges are based on the English word count. If your work also requires desktop publishing, these charges are based on the number of hours it takes to complete that phase of work. To obtain an accurate cost estimate, we will need a copy of your original document.

What about confidentiality? How can I be sure that the contents of my documents will not be disclosed to anyone else?

All our employees and contractors sign a confidential disclosure agreement before they are assigned any work. They understand that any document handled by our company is subject to this non-disclosure agreement and that they must maintain the confidentiality of all work received through us. We never had an incident of misuse.

My lawyer requested that I get a certified translation of my documents. What is this and how can I get it?

Lawyers often ask that translations for court submission or personal documents such as diplomas, university transcripts, or birth and marriage certificates be certified. ATSA has several notary publics who are authorized to take the oath of the translator.

Which are the most common languages spoken?

The three most prevalent languages in the world are: English Spanish and Russian.

How is the price of a translation calculated?

The price of each translation project depends on many factors, including the type of document translation (website, personal correspondence, legal manual, technical document), the length of the text to be translated, whether or not certification is required, how many translations are required and which languages you need your project translated into or from.

Because each project is unique, the easiest way to determine the cost of your translation project is to send its copy to us to go over your project, make an estimate and get back to you.

How do I get my project translated?

Our work process can be detailed in four simple steps:

  • Send us or upload your documents.

  • Receive a project estimate by email.

  • Send payment.

  • Download the translations and your sales receipt.

How do I send you my documents for translation?

Hard copies of documents may be mailed to us or dropped off in person at our offices.
We also accept a number of digital file formats which can be sent electronically via email.

What types of files can I send?

We currently accepts files in .doc, .docx, .pdf, .rar, .txt, and some other formats.

How long will my translation take?

As previously noted, each project is unique, and because of a number of factors there is no way to accurately generalize the length of time that translations will require.
However, the simplest way to determine the amount of time required to complete your translation project is to send us a copy and allow us to go over your project, make an estimate and get back to you personally.

What types of payment do you accept?

Currently, ATSA Translation Services accepts payment through bank wire transfers, Western Union, Money Gram and other ways suitable for our client.

Do you offer certified translation?

ATSA Translation Services offers comprehensive service for translation and certification of various documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, and so on.

Can you guarantee my project will be kept confidential?

ATSA Translation Services understands the importance of confidentiality in regards to your project, and will uphold the highest professional and ethical standards to make sure the content of your project remains private throughout all aspects of the translation services process.

Do you offer face-to face interpretation services?
